Chlorine Removal
The chlorine in city water can be tough on skin and unwanted in drinking water. Additionally, some find the odor or chemical component offensive for every-day use. Whole-house carbon filters address this problem by forcing water through a bed of activated carbon. Activated carbon is known for its extremely high absorbency and is particularly effective in removing chlorine, sediment, and VOCs. At Yutzy Brothers, Inc. we custom make our carbon filters to fit the particular need. If water hardness is also an issue we sometimes recommend a “stack tank” system—a water softener/carbon combination.
